Kintinery is a travel photo and itinerary sharing platform operated by Kintinery LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Kintinery, we collect the following information:

• Account information — your email address and display name when you sign up.
• Photos — images you upload to your trips.
• Itinerary data — trip details, activities, dates, locations, and notes you create or import.
• AI chat messages — conversations you have with the AI assistant within your trips.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide the Kintinery service, including:

• Storing and displaying your trips, itineraries, and photos.
• Sharing trip data with people you explicitly invite as trip members.
• Providing AI-powered features such as itinerary building and document parsing.
• Sending transactional emails related to your account and trips.

3. AI Features

Kintinery uses Anthropic's Claude API to power AI chat, document parsing, and itinerary extraction. When you use these features, your messages and documents are sent to Anthropic for processing.

Anthropic does not train on API data. Anthropic does not retain API inputs or outputs beyond 30 days, and only for abuse monitoring purposes.

Your AI conversations are stored in our database so you can access your chat history within each trip. You can delete this history by deleting the trip or your account.

4. Photo Storage

Photos you upload are stored in encrypted Amazon S3 buckets. Photos are only accessible to the members of the trip they belong to. We use temporary signed URLs that expire, so photo links cannot be shared or bookmarked by unauthorized users.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Trip data is only shared with members you explicitly invite. If you create a shared trip link, that link is accessible to anyone who has it (and the password, if you set one). You control who gets the link and can revoke it at any time.

6. Data Security

We take security seriously:

• All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
• All data is encrypted at rest in our databases and storage.
• Authentication is handled by AWS Cognito with secure token management.
• All API endpoints enforce role-based access control (owner, contributor, viewer).

7. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, chat history, usage data, and any solo trips you own. Shared trips where other members remain will have your membership removed.

Before deleting your account, you can export your itinerary data and photos using the built-in export features.

8. Third-Party Services

Kintinery relies on the following third-party services:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, storage, database, and authentication infrastructure.
• Anthropic — AI-powered chat, document parsing, and itinerary extraction.
• Unsplash — cover photo search for trips.
• Apple WeatherKit — weather forecasts for trip destinations.

None of these services have access to your trip data beyond what is strictly needed to provide their specific feature.

9. Cookies & Sessions

We use browser localStorage for authentication tokens only. We do not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising pixels.
